Philadelphia-Style Gutter Replication

After a hundred years, the Philadelphia-style gutters on this historic home needed total replacement. Many years of water damage and neglect had rotted the structural members and warranted total removal. To maximize structural integrity, all framing members are fastened with laminated deck screws instead of nails which rust and twist and give way to warping wood. The cornice moldings were removed, reconditioned and set aside. After a complete reconstruction (including the underside of the soffit with wainscoting), the moldings were reinstalled.
